I don’t know about you guys but the end of 2025 for me and for many people I talked to was one of the chaotic seasons in life, and this for all the things it brought to light. According to the universe, it was the year where things were meant to be broken or lighted up in order for us to keep evolving but this is easier to read than get it.
So in the middle of a broken relationship and with my mom in a recovery surgery process I needed to go away to find a bit of peace and answers for my mental and emotional regulation.
At the end of December I rented a cozy house in the middle of the mountains in Urubamba in the Sacred Valley in Cusco, Peru. I don’t know why but here I felt this insane connection with the mountains. Later on, I discovered that this is one of the vortexes of the earth and this made more sense to me. I honestly can’t explain how much sensitive I was feeling in those days but I was so determined to find out where my feelings and emotions came from and the most important, to find the tools to regulate them.

And you must say, well feelings come and go and this is how life is, which is a yes by some parts but a no if we take them for granted. Dr. Nirdosh Kohra explains that under the 5 biological laws many of our sicknesses come from emotions that we didn’t pay attention to at the right time and I was very aware of that in order to find out the origins of my overwhelming emotions before this reaches to my physical body.
I had heard that in the Sacred Valley people offered many healing therapies and I was willing to try some of them in order to discover what they are all about. So immersed in this personal research, I tried the following experiences below which by the way I haven’t been sponsored by any of them and this is only my honest personal experience.

- Connect with friends: According to Dr. Nirdosh Kohra, this is one of the main reasons for sickness, when we don’t have people around us to share those heavy times. As for the rising and Moon sign in Aquarius that I have, if you understand a bit of astrology, being around people or belonging to a type of tribe is always far away from my mind and being isolated is my best surviving mode so changing this pattern for the first time was very challenging for me but interesting at the same time. My friend Clarita, without hesitating she offered herself to take me to a waterfall in order to let my feelings and emotions go away. We made a beautiful ritual in which the universe opened for us a beautiful rainbow portal in the middle of the water. It was a magical day and overall a great support I received from her that totally validated what Dr. Nirdosh said about friendship.
- Connect with people in ‘the spiritual world’: This was a very dangerous place to enter! Especially these days where Peru has become the mecca of spirituality and sacred medicinal plants. There are a LOT OF PEOPLE in the Sacred Valley offering different plant retreats with some hidden manipulation behind it and a sort of magic fix to your life.
- Of course, there are good and bad places to try medicinal plants but it is so difficult to recognize them and a very doggy place to enter whenever you want to know more about them. LOTS of Internationals are now offering these retreats here and even some of the real andean ‘healers’ are not honest anymore due to the market where they are found now. I even looked for a recommended person from the Qeros lineage and he did a fake ceremony for me. So all this spiritual world brought new questions that I responded myself in the following days.
- Family constellations: Within one of the therapies I felt the call to try was the family constellations and I have a mix of feelings about it. Although some of the things that they told me made some sense to me, like the loyalties that we carry from our previous generations and families, there were others that felt a bit off and hard to process and believe. However, what I really enjoyed the most was the intention of the people who participated in this experience with me and whom we gave each other a spark of positive energy at the end.

- A time with the mountain myself: After some days of having had a lot of people around me, I went for a walk to look at the mountains in Pisac and I had such an intense personal experience without the use of any therapy. I felt so immersed with it and emotionally connected that I felt like in a different level of state that I won’t ever be able to explain by words and however I didn’t understand what’s going on at that moment I just let myself be on it. It was not until the next day where I got what happened.
- Macerated Wachuma & Willka sacred medicinal plants: Just the next day after that unique experience on my own, I met with my friends Orlando and Alwin, who genuinely use plants as medicine and we went to try Wachuma in its macerated version of it. Wachuma is the drink made by the cactus, used in many ancestral cultures in Peru. This version of the drink was a soft and friendly way to try it and it took us just probably 1hr to be on it. This was not a ceremony scheduled but an honest meeting with friends who we felt Wachuma could be good for us at that moment.
It was the first time in my life trying plants in a sort of emotional medicine so I was curious about it. I could compare this experience as having a massage to my brain and my thoughts, where it felt like a huge relief letting them go. It was a great feeling and relaxing but the most surprising thing is that at the end of this, I felt exactly as I felt the day before without any use of plants. In such a unique connection with the earth and the mountains. When I told this to my friends, they told me that I must be a very sensitive person to have reached that level of connection without any plants and I was very shocked about it.
By the next day, I started to search online to see what defines a person of being sensitive or not, why this happens and how I can stop that! Because at some point I was feeling many things at the same time that if plants were helping people to feel more connected with themselves, I felt that I actually needed the opposite thing because feeling too much was absorbing me in ways that I didn’t want anymore.

So within all my determination to find answers, I finally found something online that made sense to me! Elaine Aron, an American psychologist and researcher discovered in 1991 that some people have A Highly Sensitive Personality, and she describes these people not only that they feel a lot but with a huge intuition, huge sense to feel people, circumstances, places, experiences and overall with a huge capacity of Depth processing, which for me this explains my Huge Analytical processing brain! So there I was! Finally someone explaining the overstimulation I was experiencing in those days from specific circumstances, situations and people.
Knowing all this, made me feel more grounded about myself and my emotions and at the same time explained a lot of my unique connection to people in life, not only when I produce or film Documentaries which is insane how much we can connect to each other but with friends everywhere I go.
So following my research, I found more things.

- The 6 must neurotransmitters: Looking online and listening to different scientists I found that there are 6 important ‘feel-good’ neurotransmitters that we should feel everyday and these are:
- Dopamine (excitement)
- Cannabinoids (friendship, amusement, contentment)
- Serotonin (Pride)
- Opioids (Pleasure, gratitude, amusement)
- Oxytocin (nurturing love)
- Testosterone (sexual desire)
This list is helping me to check them everytime that I feel weird and see what I am missing for the day. Scients says that these days we most of the time fill all of these experiences from our phones or addictions instead of going outside and be aware of ourselves and our genune connections to others. However, a good thing about our brains is that, if whenever we have a full day and we are missing some of these, we can just imagine them as our brains can’t tell the difference between reality and imagination. In my case, these days I don’t have pets close to me or a boyfriend, so to fill Oxytocin, I watch pictures and videos of my nieces cats and it really makes my nurturing love filled for the day! And therefore for each one, we can try our best to do something about it in real life of course but if I can’t, I know how to deal with this now.
- Wachuma sacred plant, Willka and a ritual: Knowing that I have a bigger aperture to feel things now after discovering that I am a HSP, I tried Wachuma medicinal plant on its ancestral version drink and together with Willka seeds, which is another sacred plant and again I made this together with my friends Orlando and Alwin. To be honest, I don’t remember much about this experience other than to feel extremely cold that day. I think, for people who usually don’t look at their lives or emotions, this could have felt such an opening journey for their souls but in my case being already in that state for many weeks, I didn’t feel much difference from my normal state of being me. I didn’t even vomit or anything.
This experience confirmed to me that there is no such ‘miracle’ medicine, even if this is a plant or if this is a pill that you are trying to use as fix to your life, if you don’t really dig deeper in yourself, this experience would be dissolved after a few hours or days and you will get back to the same situation again. Nothing fixes to yourself more than yourself and I see Wachuma now as a calmer to my brain that could be beneficial maybe for sometime in life but not as a solution.

Unfortunately many people use other things like alcohol, work or even this fake sense of love for ‘traveling as a scape’ instead to really face their lives and figure it out. So when these people try plants, of course it will be as such a huge change to their opening and feelings from their automatic version of themselves. I totally respect what plants can do for people but from my experience this is not an alone solution if people don’t dig to find out their real struggles inside them.
In addition to that, I was always wondering why people are very insisting these days with hallucinogens in order to try to connect with other type of worlds or other levels of consciousness when we were born in this world as humans, the universe made us humans, no plants or beings from another world (even if they exist) and this must be for a specific reason, we also were not born in ancestral times, we were born in this era with the challenges that this era brings so my understanding with plants is that yes, this can help people to be more connected to themselves but it won’t last if there is not a real integral connection with the life they are living right now.

- Rebirthing breathing: This therapy consisted of 40min of inhale and exhale without stopping with the guidance of a person, in this case my friend Carito who I met and represented me at the therapy of family constellations 🙂 To my surprise, it was one of the most unbelievable experiences I ever had! At the end of the session I felt like I was levitating and it was exactly the same feeling I had when I went to see the mountain on my own (explained in point 4!) And the same feeling I had with the macerated Wachuma drink but this time without taking anything, just breathing! This was the moment where I reconfirmed one more time that the true healing is inside us. Without any pills, drinks or plants for more sacred that they are.
I know that many people talk about the benefits of meditation but I always refused to do it, it never worked for me even until now. But after this experience I dug more into ‘breathing techniques’ which sounds a natural thing to do. I was happy to find some apps which have a timer for breathing and within my favourites I use the free App ‘How We Feel’, which has interactive visual drawings to follow and also I tried the Free App ‘Fit Mind’, However this is more focused on meditation, it also has breathing workouts on it. I did the 30 days meditation training which was a bit challenging to me from the second part but what I enjoyed the most was the great guidance on how to change our perception of things around us.
Breathing for me now has become a ‘must thing’ to do everyday to regulate my mind and sometimes when I do it longer, it takes me to places in a kind of levitation mode that gives me a lot of clarity in mind after all. It has been insane how much our brains can be trained and I was willing to discover more.
Continuing with my personal research, I went to dig into neuroscience and this took me to understand that most of the emotions we have come from whatever thought we put in our brains, and this is not only for relationships but also for daily life in routines, food, sports, growth, business, etc.
- Training my cognitive side:

So with all these emotional states, I realized that I was getting too much on that side of calming my brain that at some point running my life in the physical world was becoming challenging, this is the moment where I understood that maybe that was the state where monks or shamans live on! Because yes, once you get to that level of connection with the cosmos and peace, you might want to stay there forever! But again, why would we stay in a state that it is not our nature to be in all the time?
Reading about the 5 main brain waves we deal with as human beings (Delta, Theta, Alpha, Beta, Gamma), none of the brain waves is a linear state in order for us to feel good. The combination of all of them makes the difference in responding to the activities we do during the day and certainly being in too much ‘Theta’ state wouldn’t help me to achieve the physical goals I have in life! So at that moment I knew that I needed to move into something more cognitive to get my balance again. Happily I found the app ‘Peak’ which helps my brain to interact with different tests in a very entertaining way and gives me results on how my brain is progressing! Of course you can train your cognitive side in many other different ways, this for me was a tool to use whenever I don’t have other things around.

- Workouts exercises: I started to put things in context again. Since I moved to the mountains I knew I needed to find a new physical routine to keep myself moving so after trying different apps I got connected with: ‘Home workouts’ and ‘7M Workout’. They have a variety of exercises and for me are easy to follow apart from my acroyoga routine which is something I have been doing for almost 8 years now.
- Reading and taking time for myself: Another of the daily practices I have been doing is taking sun in the mornings, having a quiet time in the garden drinking hot chocolate and reading a lot of nutritious books about relationships, emotions and life. My two favourite ones were: Love Life from Matthew Hussey and The Greatness Mindset from Lewis Howes. Reading for me also has been a key to not start and finish my day scrolling at my phone but instead have a different approach. And here a list for my next purchases for the next months:
- The Seven Frequencies of Communication: The Hidden Language of Human Connection
- The 48 Laws of Power
- Psychotherapy and the Highly Sensitive Person
- Living in a Mindful Universe: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Heart of Consciousness
- The Biology of Belief: Unleashing the Power of Consciousness, Matter, & Miracles

- Facing emotions not only in a holistic way: This was my main motivation when I started to search and write this post, because I needed to find a rational way on how to get over an emotional season. Holistic therapies, like breathing or taking plants can help for a little bit but it wouldn’t change anything on me if I truly didn’t dig into understanding the patterns I was facing from previous connections which now gave me a sense of relief and a true clarity of the reasons for my feelings, this gave me the ability to switch them into a different perspective and therefore gave me a sense of balance again.
- Sound frequencies: Following what science explains about our brains and emotions, this comes with complex interactions from our billions or trillions of neurons and the thoughts and experiences we have that put us in a different level of vibration.
From my experience, what I can tell is that sound frequencies have always been a must in my daily life. Digging a bit more into that, now there are apps and creators who have studied different frequencies that help us to focus, work, sleep, etc. I tried a few apps and the best that works for me is called ‘Binaural Beats’, I am using the free version so it has limited tracks but so far it works fantastic on the one I use for sleeping.

So understanding about frequencies this explained to me another of the most amazing experiences I had during this month of research and this was during the relaxing time after the Yoga class with my friend Javier and his music with the Tibetan singing bowls. I don’t know the science behind this instrument but I am pretty sure it must have a unique sound frequency because it put me on a levitation mode for about 3hrs and gave me a huge opening experience in my different senses.
- Hiking and a determined mind: One of the best pieces of advice from Toni Robins is to train your brain to always grow, in relationships, in business, in achievements, in everything. Many things won’t feel comfortable but it is part of life to not feel the end of the world when things don’t happen as we wish. So for this, I started to train my brain in order to reach new levels of hikings and I started little by little. Also from our own biology as human beings, being around nature raises up our frequencies and we can connect better with the universe and all the energies around. Beside the molecular attraction we feel when we are close to a waterfall or a river, due to our natural connection with water.
- There are many things around us that we can’t explain but we feel and we should trust them: And as long as I am happy to have tried and discovered all these different therapies, I know as well that there are many things that happen around us that we can’t explain on human levels of understanding like connections, energies, vibrations, frequencies or magnetic fields which we can’t see but we can feel and we should learn to trust them.

I finish this research (for now) with the conclusion that we definitely are a dual thing between energy and body, with challenges in both of the sides and with the awareness that we should take care of both with the same level of importance. Emotions and feelings are a huge part of ourselves as human beings, the way that we connect and feel empathy to others but also they can make us feel broken if we don’t look at them with caring.
For me, it has always been the way to feel a complete human being and this is how the motivation of this Business was created for, to be focused on the positive and inspiration of other human beings to be better in this world. I hope you enjoyed my journey here and if you have a suggestion of tools you use on your overwhelming days, please feel free to share it!
Have an amazing day!
Lizeth
